Just as the title states – Nobody really wants to do either of the above.

Now – I’m not going to pretend that I’m Tony Robbins here or that I’ll save your life.

But hear me out.

I’m a generally positive guy. Have been dealt some tough and shit situations throughout my life. And as I stand here today in 2020. I’ve came out successful on them all. And I’m happy and proud to announce that.

90%+ of my attitude and success has came from the things that I feed my mind with.

I have 3 different bases I use –



Switch off

Everyday – In the morning when I’m working out. I listen to something inspiring. It may be an autobiography of someones success or it may be a podcast or speeches from great leaders. Whatever it may be – It’s part of my inspiring portion of the day. This lasts typically 30-60 minutes.

Don’t have time in the morning to workout etc? Your daily communte to work will be at least 30 minutes, so stick it on in the car.

During the day from around 9am-5pm, I’m listening to things that are educational. I’m listening to podcasts in sectors I’m interested in. I’m trying to obtain new skills from audiobooks and taking notes in my mobile as I go. All the while I’m able to do work while listening to these things. – Yes, I can multi task.

‘I really need to focus when I’m doing my work and can’t have distractions’. Cool – Me neither. But I know that I’ve accustomed myself to have something playing in the background, be able to still work and be as productive as I am. And for the record, even if you aren’t able to take in all of the audio experience – You may pick out a couple of things that will help you. Whereas, If you aren’t listening to anything educational then your chances of picking up anything that will help are??? Yip, You got that right – 0.

You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take – As they say.

Then, When it comes to the ‘Switch off’ portion. This is more of a rest for my brain. I look at the brain as a muscle. You need to provide it with stress and pressure but then – Let it rest in order to grow and come back stronger.

So from 8/9pm onwards, I’m switching off and watching Netflix or a movie or a documentary or anything that takes my mind off the first two portions so that tomorrow I can come back refreshed with a stronger and smarter brain.

Too many people consume useless things that have no benefit. I know, I used to be one of them. But now, I’m able to do that – Only at the end of the day.
