The ultimate diet is the one where we can eat huge quantities of whatever we want and still lose weight, right ?

Sadly, there is no known means of really doing that. The real ultimate diet is the one where we can drop body fat and retain as much muscle mass as possible over the optimal time span to whatever our goal may be.

This is the form of diet that allows us to progress without every taking a backwards step. By following this type of diet, we are able to hit our target, maintain it and really “Peak”.

Optimally we also are looking to eat as much ‘clean’ food as possible and allow our energy levels to stay high by consuming the most amount of carbohydrate that we really can while dropping weight.

Before even looking at cardiovascular exercise as a means of dropping weight, the best thing to do initially is to allow yourself to drop as much body fat with a stand alone diet. This enables you  keep more weapons in your arsenal so to speak. It allows you to utilise each tool affectively. Diet, Cardiovascular work, Weight training  all used to their optimal ability as opposed to over doing it with all three and leaving yourself very little techniques to add in and tweak.

There are many different variations of what a ‘Diet’ really is and many different approaches that people take towards following it.

Ultimately, the greatest diet is the one that you actually stick to. It’s the diet that you are consistent with day in and day out and allows you to drop weight and body fat s desired by creating a deficit.

Will it be hard ? Eventually it may be.

Will you have cravings ? Indeed you will have, we are only human.

Will it be worth it ? Definitely.

The greatest tool we possess is self discipline, and there’s no greater gratification than pushing yourself to the limit physically and mentally in order to achieve a desired goal.

I firmly believe that any man’s finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle – victorious. – Vincent Lombardi
