Training intensity is EVERYTHING.

You can be in the gym for hours and hours putting in work, putting in an effort that isn’t going to be rewarded for 2 reasons –

  1. It is overkill and you are causing more of a detrimental effect rather than a beneficial one.
  1. Your intensity is very low and you are basically messing around.

If you are able to bring a good level of intensity in the gym you really don’t have to be there for that long at all.

All you are looking to do is go in, stimulate the muscles being worked and leave.

Stimulate not annihilate.

Some of the people known to have the best physiques in the world attained them by training correctly, smartly and with a high level of intensity.

Dorian Yates recognized widely as one of the best bodybuilders in the world built his physique through performing workouts that are a fraction of the time that some people spend in the gym nowadays.

After around 90 minutes in the gym working out testosterone begins to drop drastically and as we all know… Being one of the main components towards building muscle, as men this is something we want to be keeping a hold of as much as possible.

For optimal results if you can get in and out of the gym in 45 minutes when training with weights that is exactly what you should be doing.

When it comes to cardio… That’s another story that we will cover later.

But weight training ? 45 minutes-60 minutes max.

In – Workout with great intensity – Leave – Repair.

THAT is the formula to building muscle.

The aspect of nutrition plays a great role in this, the repairing from the training is what builds your muscles.

Pushing sets to failure, keeping rest periods minimal and covering your workouts with sufficient sets and reps will take care of the intensity side towards stimulating the muscles.

Then…

Simply leave and grow.

Repeat this cycle over time and you will be building muscle.

It’s a simple process really…
